O.C. Supertones fans who have been missing the sweet sounds of their favorite Orange County act can find something to rejoice in with the return of the former frontman with his new solo venture, Mojo & the Info. Matt Morginsky's first post-Supertones project, Doctorate In Cold Rockin' It (Mojo Goes To School) is available now to download from the singer's SNOCAP on Myspace. Recently, Mojo had this to say about the record...
"My name is Matt “Mojo” Morginsky and I have just completed mixing and recording my first solo record! See, I used to sing and write for a band called the OC Supertones which was some good times. We made some good (and some not so good) songs, played a lot of shows, met some nice people and God did some amazing things with us. Our last show was in October of 2005. After that I still wrote songs but never considered putting together a record, (Ten years of nonstop touring and recording can take a little creative motivation out of you.) So I joined the working week like everybody else. After a couple of years my list of songs I was writing was growing and I decided to make a record and put it out, because I think that’s what God wants song writers and musicians to do! There are other reasons for the timing of the record but I can’t go into that right now. I recorded it with Ethan Luck who used to play with me in the supertones and is basically one of the best friends I have (known him for 15 years). I’m not trying to make a comeback in the music scene or anything like that, I simply want to put songs out for those who might enjoy them. The album should be out by May on Itunes and available for purchase on my website a couple of months later (for those who still like physical cd’s). I hope you like the new album I will have songs up here to listen to in about two weeks (it needs to be mastered)..."
